Following the Chermayeff & Geismar directed brand identity refresh in 1970, and the award winning 1971-72 poster series, Pan Am retraced its steps. The Chermayeff designed helvetica logo was gone and replaced by the more traditional windswept Pan Am logo.
Pan Am's next poster series emulates the Chermayeff series and is best described as the "Post-Chermayeff" series. This series dates from 1973-75 and is characterized by large photographs, mostly landscapes or landmarks, with a small Pan Am logo and destination.
